Danwon High School 4.16 Memorial Classroom

In April 2014, 250 second-year students and 11 teachers from Danwon High School went on a school trip with excitement but could not return to school.
In the classroom, letters and memos were piled up in memory of the students and teachers, and the classroom where the students studied became a space to commemorate and remember the victims who could not return.
Since then, citizens' voices have grown to leave the classroom as it is, and seven organizations, including the Gyeonggido Office of Education and the 4/16 Sewol Families for Truth and a Safer Society, decided to relocate and restore the facility after establishing a separate facility through an agreement.
After a total of three relocations, the classroom is now located in the Memorial Hall of 4.16 Institute Of Democratic Citizenship Education under the name of Danwon High School 4.16 Memorial Classroom.
